Heir to legendary models, such as the pioneer XRV 650 Africa Twin and the successive 750 versions, which from 1988 to 2002 redefined the concept of adventurous motorcycle, the new generation of Africa Twin arrived on the world market in 2016. With the long-awaited modernity and high technology of the model, the genuine 'True Adventure' spirit of its ancestors was added, not a mere slogan, but a constructive philosophy faithful to its origins, which makes Honda Africa Twin versatile bikes, capable of offering comfort on trips of any type as well as face real adventures. Finally, adventurous motorcycles with a capital "A", which do not penalize their riders with excessive weight and volume, or inappropriate technical choices for an adventurer.

The balance between weight and power is an inseparable concept of the Africa Twin of the past and the present, multipurpose motorcycles, which are both suitable for urban trips and for short weekend trips, or more extreme adventures, which with the Africa Twin can truly be put into practice.

The arrival of the 2021 versions of the CRF 1100L Africa Twin is marked by an in-depth technical renewal, an improvement that preserves the 'True Adventure' essence, but that has effectively evolved the model in practically all aspects. The increase in power and torque is a consequence of the increase in the cubic capacity of the bicylindrical engine, which together with the weight reduction took the performance to an even higher level. Relevant is the introduction of the double clutch transmission (DCT), which adds to the option with conventional gearbox.

In fact, there will be four Africa Twin 2021 for sale in Brazil: CRF 1100L, CRF 1100L DCT, options that are characterized by the 18.8 liter fuel tank, and the CRF 1100L Adventure Sports ES and CRF 11000L Adventure Sports ES DCT, with 24.8 liter tank. All received the electronic throttle system TBW - Throttle By Wire -, along with the extension of the driving modes, more options in the HSTC traction control system - Honda Selecteable Torque Control -, and many other technology items related to the adoption of a sophisticated IMU - Inertial Measurement Unit - that enabled Africa Twin to make an important technological leap.

The steel chassis has been completely renovated, now with aluminum subframe, the same material used in the rear suspension scale, derived from the Honda CRF 450R motocross. The addition of the IMU, the six-axis inertial control unit, made it possible to manage not only the seven levels of the traction control system (HSTC), but also other novelties in Africa Twin 2021, such as the three-level antiwheelie function, the Cornering Turn-optimized ABS (with off-road configuration) and rear wheel lift control. Standard driving modes - URBAN, TOUR and GRAVEL - are now joined by OFF-ROAD mode and USER with two modes to be fully customized. The Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES comes equipped with tubeless tires and Showa EERA ™ - Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment suspensions, which offer even more comfort and efficiency to the model.

The riding position evolved through a redesigned seat and a higher handlebars. The color TFT instrument board is touch sensitive and is 6.5 inches. Called MID (Multi Information Display), it offers a direct connection to the various motorcycle systems and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto® technology via Bluetooth and USB cable. DRL daytime running lights with LEDs greatly increase the visibility of the bike, improving safety. The cruise control system is standard equipment.
