There is a war waging right before our eyes. It has been fought as far back as history has been written, and you and everyone you know are fighting The Enemy at the front. The Enemy is always changing, yet always the same. It oscillates between recruiting you and oppressing you. It tricks you, seduces you, enslaves you and ignores you.

Homer wrote of it thousands of years ago. Socrates faced this foe and nobly died. The Spartans fought 300 strong before yielding to it. Alexander the Great conquered many of its lands and Rome fought The Enemy for centuries before giving in. Caesar himself looked The Enemy in the eyes in his final gasps.

The thinkers, artists, and scientists of the Renaissance faced it with renewed strength inspiring our Founding Fathers to win The Greatest War once and for all, and now we face The Enemy in a renewed state of peril. Today, the enemy would have you turn yourself in. It would have you ashamed of yourself, begging for forgiveness, and making the ultimate sacrifice. The enemy would have you walking and breathing but never living.

The enemy is the mob and its greatest weapon is you.

It would have you lose yourself to it; living within it and feeling as though you can't live without it. It would strip you of your self esteem and dictate to you your values, beliefs, and purpose. It would have itself become to you your only purpose.

It has no concern for Truth or Progress, only Power. In the name of Altruism, it reinforces a sense of worthlessness in you by having you believe that you are nothing but something to be sacrificed for the greater good. It would have you miserable, lost, unfulfilled and ordinary and right now it's overcoming America.

The Enemy is telling us that self-esteem is oppression - that any amount of success one person accomplishes is only out of the exploitation of another. It's shaming America for what it is, what it holds dear, and all the good that it has done. It lies to us, claiming there are no individuals among us and that our identities are only a matter of the groups we belong to.

The Enemy leaves no room for life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness because as far as it's concerned these are inherently selfish values. Its ultimate goal is equity, but not how you may have imagined. The equity it would have would not be a state of universal prosperity or fulfillment. It would be a state of universal codependence and longing. The enemy would have us be equally miserable so long as no one among us is extraordinary. Only those in power would have sovereignty over themselves.

The Enemy knows it cannot win The Greatest War as long as there are those among us willing to fight for the individual, for individual rights, for self respect, respect of others and the greatest value of all: Self-Esteem.

Only through Self-Esteem can individuals become the greatest versions of themselves. Only through Self-Esteem can we reach self-actualization and only through freedom can we apply our will and our reason to the manifestation of our destinies and the ultimate pinnacle of America's potential.

Today, I am reclaiming my life and my identity and I want you to be inspired to do the same. Today I am not a Democrat, a Republican, White or Black. Today I Am One American.
