Vision of the Tree of Life- Listen and Obey - May 6, 2022 - Tiffany Root & Kirk VandeGuchte

The choice to love is ours. As we surrender to Jesus, we will love. And loving Jesus means obeying Him. Jesus said that if we love Him, we will keep HIs commandments (John 14:15). He's not talking about the Ten Commandments. He's talking about obeying His voice. (1 John 5:3) If we believe Him, we will obey Him because faith without works is dead. (James 2:17) Jesus said that He would send us the Helper, the Holy Spirit, who would lead us into all Truth and tell us what Jesus is saying. (John 16:13-14) Those are the things we obey. It is as Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-27:

"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and it fell. And great was its fall."

We cannot say we love Jesus and not do what He says. This vision speaks directly to that point.
