Welcome back! In today's video, Senior Tejas & Texas Mom have a fun sit down chat about GETTING STARTED NOW growing fruit trees, berry plants and a garden n your back yard! We discuss the importance of growing healthy food for your family and becoming less dependent on the grocery store system. As the SUPPLY CHAIN issues continue to unfold across the world we can see the need to grow more of our own food. The second half of this discussion is how to preserve the food that you plan on growing. For our family, we preserve our food in many ways: canning, dehydrating, freezing, and cool pantry storage( for squash and pumpkins) We also have a big goal this year to purchase a Harvest Right Freeze Dryer to help in the food preservation!
