Transformers Legacy - Hot Rod Review

In this unboxing / review, we’ll be taking a detailed look at the Transformers Legacy Core-Class Hot Rod!

This little Autobot looks okay in his bot mode, but his alt mode is where he shines. Other than using mushroom pegs for the wheel hubs, his race car form is superb. I can picture him in his alt mode running over a Decepticon or two.

Articulation is about what one would expect from the Hasbro / Takara core class figures. You should be able to get him into some decent poses, but I do have concerns about the long-term quality of the figure as they used ball joints in his shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. His knee joints out of the box are terribly loose and creates difficulty in standing and posing.

He comes with one accessory, which is some type of energy sword. It looks fine and has fantastic blast effect capability in alt mode (you’ll see in the video), but it just seems to be an odd choice. Maybe they should have given him the gun Megatron used to kill Optimus Prime, but I digress…
