Meanwhile giant sequoia trees are the third longest-lived species with the oldest known specimen to have been 3,266 years old in the Converse Basin Grove of Giant Sequoia National Monument. They are only outlived by bristlecone pines—oldest aged at 4,844 years in the Great Basin—and by Alerce trees—oldest aged at 3,639 years in Chile. The Earth is a planet of flora breathing CO2; humans are merely fertilizer that exhale CO2.
