Sharon here! Join me on this beautiful fall day on our Southern Illinois wooded homestead as I take a trail ride in search of native persimmons trees. The fruit is just starting to ripen and it's the perfect time to gather a few and test out the theory of what the winter weather prediction is for our area. Will it be a knife? Spoon? Fork? Each is said to have different predictors of the winter ahead.
