Nita Wiggins was born on May 7, 1964, in Macon, Georgia. After 21 years as a TV news and sports broadcaster on U.S. stations, she relocated to Paris, France. Finding clarity as she looked across the ocean to what she endured in her newsroom environments, she wrote her Civil Rights Baby memoir about how the Civil Rights Act of 1964 fails and succeeds in her life. The memoir reveals what happens to a headstrong 8-year-old girl who will become a reporter covering the Dallas Cowboys football team or die trying. The subtitle of her memoir is My Story of Race, Sports, and Breaking Barriers in American Journalism.
