1834 World Chess Championship [Match 1, Game 7] commentary by Paul Morphy
2 years ago
Paul Morphy wrote a chess column called "Chess Department, conducted by Paul Morphy" in the New York Ledger from August 6, 1859 until August 4, 1860.
In this video, we go through the seventh game of the first 1834 match between Louis-Charles Mahé de La Bourdonnais and Alexander McDonnell. We use Morphy's commentary, and a little bit of 21st century engine analysis.
