AR-15 Woodland Rattle Can Camo

DIY rattle can paint job using Rustoleum found at Walmart and hardware stores. My hunting camo is patterned in True Timber Strata. It works very well in my AO and I loosely patterned this rifle after that. For the basecoat I used Deep Forest Green. For the splotches I cut some household sponges into rough shapes, sprayed the paint on to cardboard and dipped the sponge in it. The other colors used were Khaki, Dark Brown, Black, and Moss green. The moss green was not from the camo lineup It was a bit glossier than the others so I don't recommend using it.

Some things to consider is taping off any gaps that lead to the internals of the rifle, or other important areas. I decided not to paint the optic and instead use a camo wrap that I'll show later. You'll also want to degrease the whole rifle before painting.

I debated a few different methods including a mesh overtop, some camo pattern stencils, and the sponge method that I used. You don't have to do it my way...... there's a thousand ways to skin a cat, and all of them are fun.
