At age 14, his family was evicted from their home.

At age 16, he had already been arrested more than 8 times.

His life begin to change when he met his high school football coach, who also became a mentor and a father figure. Soon, he was being recruited by colleges across the country and was eventually rewarded a scholarship to play at the University of Miami.

However, because of injuries, he missed several games and was eventually replaced by future Hall of Fame Warren Sapp.
Soon after losing his dream to play football, he hit rock bottom and went into depression. His quote : "I didn't want to do a thing, i didn't want to go anywhere. I was crying constantly. Eventually you reach a point where you are all cried out"

But as the door closed on his football career, another one would soon open. Although wrestling was in his blood, he struggled at first to find his identity in the ring. At his first major event, he was booed by 20,000 fans. Weeks later, a knee injury forced him out for months.

When he returned, he decided to change his persona to something that was more true to himself. Almost instantly, the crowds fell in love and he became the biggest star in pro wrestling. This opened another door : ACTING.

The Rock is now highest-paid actor in Hollywood earning over $64 million in 2016.

Once broke and depressed, he is now the World's #1 International Box office Star and one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the world.
