China Eastern Airlines

China Eastern Airlines 20Mar16. I was attracted to buying a ticket since the price was hundreds of dollars less than other airline.

As many are aware, this airline is much maligned in the review sites such as Yelp. But they did well on my trip from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai and to Narita Tokyo. The desk and flight attendants were nice, helpful and courteous. The food was good and the right quantity. The food came at no extra charge. The free movie selection was good with recently released files such as Love and Mercy.

The music selection was not good; too many unknown artists. There is no magazines, so bring your own reading material. There was an unbelievably long line to transfer to my final destination.

There was enough things to do and time to close my eyes, which made the long flight seemed surprisingly short. All considering they did very well for a budget airline. Compared to no frills Southwest, China Eastern offers enough free meals and entertainment. Speaking to other passengers, they also felt that the China Eastern did surprisingly well.
