Dapper Cigars is a fairly boutique brand that we've reviewed before. But today's cigar, while we've received one in the past… it seems to have been lost in the archives. So, today we're reviewing the Dapper Cigars La Madrina Toro that we received in January's box from CigarClub.

The Dapper La Madrina has a nice, oily wrapper that's medium in color. After cutting it with my Colibri V-Cutter, the draw had the perfect resistance. On the cold draw, the flavors were a little green with hints of pine and maybe some cedar.

Putting the La Madrina to the torch, the aroma coming off the smoke reminded me of pipe tobacco. With the first puff, the flavors were really good. However, with the second puff, the flavors were… weird. As the cigar heated up, the draw tightened up a bit, too.

Through the middle of the cigar, the construction proved to be fantastic. The burn was razor sharp, the draw was great and I could get plenty of smoke to fully taste the cigar.

However, the those flavors are a little bitter, a little leathery, and aren't my favorite, so stick around until the end.

Final Thoughts

After smoking the Dapper La Madrina Toro for just under 90 minutes, I didn't love the flavors, but this was a really great cigar. The construction was fantastic; I had a great draw and a mostly even burn.

However, the flavors weren't my favorite. I tasted notes of wood, something sour, and leather.

But even though I didn't love the flavors of this cigar, it was an overall great experience and I think you'll like it. The Dapper La Madrina Toro earns a CigarScore 5.
