What Are The Stages Of A Jewish Wedding

1. The Engagement Period

-This is where both sets of parents contract their children for marriage.

- The parents of the groom paid a dowry for the bride which made this legal.

Our heavenly Father sent Jesus to PAY for us. He became the payment.

Perhaps this is why this event is not called, “Marriage Supper of the Creator”

- This could last a year or two and would prove the other person's faithfulness.

- While the groom was away, he would spend time build and addition on to his Father’s House for his Bride. (John 14)

- This was legally binding and could only be broken by divorce.

- Matthew 1:18-19

2. The Presentation

- The festivities before the ceremony.

- This could last up to a week depending upon how wealthy the family was.

3. The Ceremony

- At the end of the festivities, the Groom and his party would show up at the grooms house and take the Bride and her party to the Ceremony

- After the ceremony, the final meal was to be eaten and marriage was to consummated,

How Does The Bride Prepare Herself

She (Church) does not have the ability to make herself clean and pure.

Ephesians 2:1-10

We are the “Zombie Bride” The Walking Dead,

She is clean from her Grooms sacrifice and grace.

Who Are The Guests Invited

- The invited guest cannot be the Church , the Bride herself because it is her wedding.

- The invited guest are the people (Saints) who believed before and after the “Church Age”
