BLIND REVIEW - Bocock Brothers World Traveler Maduro - MIXED FEELINGS - CIGAR REVIEWS by CigarScore

Today marks the first time we're doing something new in the cigar industry. We're reviewing a cigar without knowing what it is, who made it, how much it costs, or what's in it. So, while you're reading the after-action report, Ellory went into this review completely blind.

Today's review is for the Bocock Brothers World Traveler Maduro Robusto (again, Ellory didn't know what it was until the end). The World Traveler Maduro had a great look to it and the wrapper had a little bit of oil to it.

Giving the cigar a whiff, it smelled delicious with hints of sweetness that were quite alluring. Torching the foot, the aroma of the smoke was also quite excellent.

I used my deep v-cutter to open up the smoking end, and the first flavors were good.

Through the middle of the Bocock Brothers World Traveler Maduro Robusto, the flavors were okay with hints of sourness and musty/funkiness, and the tight draw remained.

Also, the burn was somewhat uneven. Around the 50 minute mark, the World Traveler Maduro also became very hot and I could barely hold onto it.

Final Thoughts

After smoking the Bocock Brothers World Traveler Maduro Robusto for just under an hour, I'd had enough. The flavors I enjoyed in the first two-thirds of the cigar had disappeared, and I could barely hold onto the cigar due to heat building up.

Overall, I didn't just love the flavors. A cigar that started strong ended up letting me down. The Bocock Brothers World Traveler Maduro Robusto isn't as good as the Habano I reviewed or the Connecticut I also reviewed. Also, $12 (basically) for a robusto I couldn't smoke for more than 50 minutes… eh.

A tight draw combined with flavors I didn't enjoy and add in a cigar that became too hot to finish, the Bocock Brothers World Traveler Maduro Robusto earns a CigarScore 3.
