Bear Spring Furnace 1832 to 1862 slave labor

Bear Spring Furnace 1832 was destroyed by the Union forces after the victory at Fort Donnelson and then this present furnace dates back to 1873. Slaves were used for many years to produce "pig iron" and then shipped either by train or by boat on the Cumberland River in Tennessee.
