Please join Daniel F. Runde, CSIS William A. Schreyer Chair and Director of the Americas Program, for a virtual armchair discussion with H.E. Paulo Guedes, Minister of the Economy of Brazil.

As the largest economy in South America, home to emerging and fast-growing technology, energy, industrial, and agricultural sectors, Brazil plays a vital role in the economic future of the region. At the moment however, waves of disruption ranging from pandemic-related supply chain challenges, to the recent decoupling of the global economy from Russia have washed over Brazil and the hemisphere as a whole.

This conversation will highlight how Brazil is addressing the challenges created by major global trends, and what opportunities lie ahead for the country. It will also discuss possible future directions for Brazil and the United States to cooperate on issues of shared economic interest.

This event was made possible due to general funding to CSIS.
