How Amazon Prime Day Killed High Street Sales

When you are valued at 1.74 Trillion yea that's with a T not a B! 1.74 trillion dollars. It starts to become quite difficult to continue to amaze the world with mind-blowing stats. Yet every year amazon still manages to do it. Amazon clearly has a very befitting name, because as far as metaphors go … they are the amazon of eCommerce in the western world. Last year thanks to the pandemic, amazon exceeded all expectations. Where it was predicted that US sales will grow 17.2% instead, it grew 44.1% meaning that last year alone, they banked in $318.41 billion

But let's take a trip down memory lane…

Remember those good old days where the school holidays would come around, and you got to go with your parents down to the nearest shopping mall because it was the spring sales, or the summer sales or the Christmas sales and you were allowed to buy one or 2 or … if you are lucky many new items?

Remember walking down that high street or mall and seeing the sales signs across every single shop. A few years ago, Amazon decided that they are just as big as a high street, and so decided that on a couple of days every year they would start a sale event that is purely attributed to amazon prime deals.

Watch until the end of the video and I’ll reveal just how much Amazon was able to bank across this lucrative 2-day event this year!
