Showing Vulnerability in Leadership

I will be speaking about how Leadership showed me how to be my authentic self, or some would say vulnerability. I was going to talk about how great leaders like, Steve Jobs, Apple, Ginni Rometty, IBM, Bill Gates, Microsoft, and Oprah Winfrey, Harpo Studios and how they lead their companies. However, the more I thought about it, the more I was understanding that we don’t really talk about the vulnerability of leadership, and how that affects you as a leader.
Let me introduce myself, I am Dawn Long, a Motivational and Leadership speaker and a Mindset Coach, from Anderson, MO.
As we talk about leadership today, I want you to understand that your personal life, professional life, and school life are all intertwined. I experienced very difficult times where I felt like a failure as a mother, wife, and leader. But it was really important for me to go through that. Struggle, for me, is what leads me to learn, and grow from some inspirational moments in my life. And to really understand what it meant to show my human side. At the end of the day, it is about learning from those experiences and sharing your story with others.
