#469 Writer / Producer David Assael

David Assael is a writer-producer who was born on the Lower East Side of New York City. He received an MFA in Fiction from Columbia University. He was honored with a New York State Council of the Arts Award for best fiction for “Where The Spotlight Misses,” a novel. He has sold original screenplays to Disney, Warner Brothers, Imagine and Twentieth Century Fox. He also has written many pilots for CBS, NBC and ABC. His numerous television credits include Saint Elsewhere, Miami Vice, Star-Trek, The Next Generation, Northern Exposure and Picket Fences. The Writer’s Guild Of America recently honored St. Elsewhere, Northern Exposure and Star-Trek, The Next-Generation as “some of the most memorable TV shows of all time.”
