Are Orange County School Board Members Deceiving Parents?

At a Policy Committee meeting on 10/22/2020 school board members discuss the drafting of a Gender Support Guideline Policy. Up for discussion, school lawyer informs that any written record about a gender plan can legally be shared with parents (FERPA) through student records. School board members Hillary MacKenzie and Sarah Smylie want to let students know through the policy that if there is no written record at school of the drafted gender plan for a student then parents will have no idea about the plan, as it is not part of the student's record.
