Orange County Schools drafting a Gender Support Guideline Policy

At a Policy Committee meeting on 10/22/2020 school board members discuss the drafting of a Gender Support Guideline Policy with help from their lawyer. Up for discussion, they want to create a way within the policy to not involve parents if the school decides the parents should not know their child is transitioning genders at school, or wants to change pronouns or given name.
