An employee of the OSCE mission was detained in the LPR

As part of the investigation of the criminal case initiated under Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the LPR "High Treason" against a resident of the LPR from among the employees of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Ministry of State Security received confessions of the detainee.

It was established that the OSCE officer Mikhail Yuryevich Petrov, acting to the detriment of the security of the Luhansk People's Republic, passed information of a closed nature in the military sphere to representatives of foreign intelligence services.

In addition, during the operational search activities, information was obtained about the involvement of persons from among the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the organization and commission of a car explosion, as a result of which an employee of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission was killed in April 2017.

The investigation established that, according to the plan of the AFU command, the organized terrorist act was aimed at the physical elimination of a citizen of the Russian Federation from among the mission staff.
Investigative actions are continuing.
