Pruning Maiden's Blush Lilac for Vigorous New Growth

Maiden's Blush is a great lilac, and one of its best features is that it blooms several weeks before the wild variety. Maiden's Blush tend to be shorter than other varieties. I have found that culling out the older high stems produces a flush of new growth. Also I have found that, in zone 7, watering during the hottest months helps this cultivar.
