Mangrove snapper are always welcome aboard the boat! In this adventure we'll show you some awesome Tampa Bay Snapper Fishing Action, along with some great snapper and grouper fishing tips as well. Our main strategy is to chum the mangrove snapper into a feeding frenzy using our chum cutter and dropper (available at https://www.hff.fish/store/c14/chumproducts ). Then we either use bottom rigs like a knocker rig, swing jigs, and jig heads when the conditions are right. When the tide is very slow or slack, we will use small baits to chum the snapper up to the surface. The skyway shipping channel is full of mangrove snapper and grouper that are usually very willing to bite cut bait like threadfin herring and small whitebait ( scaled sardines ) . The skyway bridge itself is a huge artificial reef that holds thousands of snapper and grouper. Utilizing the chum and freelining method on a slack tide will produce huge balls of snapper for anyone.
