VOLVO FMX MAX 540 new generation ready for mining and construction

The latest generation of Volvo FH, FM and FMX arrives in the country a few months after being launched in Europe. Even more innovative, the vehicles come as standard with an unprecedented package of safety devices, a new dashboard with an advanced digital platform and improvements in aerodynamics and connectivity that guarantee up to 5% lower fuel consumption. The FM and FMX have brand new cabins.

The new Volvos come with a new version of I-See, a system that uses the truck's connectivity to identify the topography of the road in advance and choose the best gears, always automatically. On new trucks, I-See is pre-mapped at the factory, improving performance and saving fuel from the first trip.

All vehicles have been given a 12-inch digital panel, fully digital, with various configurable screen possibilities for the driver's convenience. Everything adjusts to the driving mode, displaying information needed for different operations on the central screen. Innovations make your day-to-day easier, such as the automatic pre-trip inspection, which checks numerous items, such as brake wear and coolant level. The driver can place the GPS display in the center of the visual field and also view the axle weight of the tractor and trailer, among numerous other options.

Another innovation is the 9-inch touchscreen multimedia center. With easy visualization, it brings everything within reach and vision of the driver, from the radio, cell phone mirroring and all vehicle communication, to applications, telemetry and many other important settings.

The focus on safety is even greater in the new generation of Volvo heavy trucks. One of the improvements is the Descent Autopilot, a new technology that allows you to maintain the programmed speed on mountain slopes or longer slopes. The system combines several devices, such as the renowned VEB; the powerful Volvo engine brake; the I-Shift electronic transmission; and even the truck's service brakes, which are automatically applied so as not to exceed the maximum speed set.

On the Volvo FH, there is now the option of LED headlamps, with anti-glare system. The device adapts automatically and gradually to vehicle traffic, turning off and on the LED segments, regardless of the driver's action, increasing the safety of all road users, as well as ensuring maximum vision for the Volvo driver.

Now, the new line of trucks comes as standard with the EBS Electronic Brake Safety package. These equipments ensure a faster reaction of the brakes and distribute the braking force between the axles and the truck as a whole. They also allow for less and more uniform wear of pads or inserts. With this package, the trucks always have EBS electronic drive brakes for drum and disc brakes; Traction control; ABS brakes; Ramp Departure Assistance; Emergency Brake Light and Parking Brake with automatic activation/deactivation.
