Nomadik Quarterly Subscription Box review march 2022.

First things first, This is a review featuring my experience with this service. I am not a paid promoter or affiliate. As a business owner and consumer I was intrigued by the Nomadik box for several years before deciding to subscribe. I have had several subscriptions in the past with mixed feelings on those experiences and wanted this one to be different. It was not. I really wanted to believe that the complaints found at the bbb and elsewhere we unfounded, I wanted to believe that other peoples expectations were unreasonably high, I wanted to believe... Let's start with the good because there is quite alot of it.
1. The ordering process is easy and intuitive. Shopify is good at this.
2. The packaging is nice and arrived in good condition
3. The value to price is skewed in favor of the consumer. It is much like consumers being able to purchase these items at dealer cost direct. The value is 100% there.
4. The customer engagement, artwork, inserts are all very good and engage the customer. I enjoyed this.
5. The free box (which is often available for new subscribers) is a great added value.

As I mentioned, there is a lot of good there, however, it is woefully overshadowed by customer service which kills the sale, the experience and for "sales" the repeat customer and the referral. let's list the bad.

1. Contact via email only. Nope, Nope, NOPE. No business class operation uses this model. when you are providing a subscription service with so many variables human contact goes a long way.
2. No reply protocol. I received random replies days after my initial contact. No auto reply confirmation, nothing. Businesses need to acknowledge their customers as if they ARE that important. We are.
3. No social media monitoring. Messages on social media go unanswered and comments seem to be turned off on their posts. So no luck there either.
4. confusing website information. The website says box "will ship within 2 business days" Now, before you say, well the new one was not out yet. I ordered this early March which raised 2 questions for me. 1. Why am I getting quarter 4 box and 2. Why am I waiting until quarter 1 boxes go out for my quarter 4 box....confused. Again to this day, no response.
5. The return policy. Tell me if this makes any sense, This is from their site. "Yes, you may return your gear kit for a full refund as long as everything in the kit is in original, unused condition. You must notify us within 14 days from your delivery date and provide the reason for your return. However, returns and refunds are at our sole discretion." This last section gives them ultimate control over-ruling their first statement. Cool trick huh?
6. The BBB. The BBB does not wield false complaints. They present them to the company and if they are not answered they are considered valid. The Nomadik had treated their BBB account reputation like they have their customer service. Pay it no attention.

All is not lost on this company. With the right PR model, Project Manager and Customer Service team the Nomadik could be on top of this niche industry and that is what I hope for them. I have been in the Project Management industry for many years and it takes a plan and discipline. They have the model and products. I wish them the best and I hope someday I can come back and feature the Nomadik as a top pick.
