Just because there are a lot of vitamins and supplements on the shelves, doesn’t mean that you should try to take them all. Before taking any supplement, you should do plenty of research to determine if there are any health risks or detrimental side effects you should avoid.
You’re probably used to taking vitamins rather than prescribed pharmaceuticals to treat those not so serious issues.

Today, we’ll look at which supplements you should take to literally supplement what our everyday diets are lacking, while improving our energy levels and overall health.
1. Vitamin C
This powerful antioxidant that also strengthens your bones, joints, and skin should be consumed daily.
One of the most important features of Vitamin C is that it strengthens the immune system. This characteristic is so important because many of our health problems result from a damaged or weak immune system.
Additionally, Vitamin C treats the symptoms associated with depression and certain eye conditions.
2. Magnesium
Over the years, the quality of the soil that produces our food has decreased. Due to this decrease the magnesium content in our food has also diminished. Today, more people have magnesium deficiencies than they used to.
Because magnesium plays an important role in our overall health, it’s better to include this supplement in your daily routine.
Magnesium does the following:
It strengthens bones and muscles.
It balances our nervous system.
It improves circulation.
It improves intestinal health.
It helps to stabilize blood sugar levels.
3. Turmeric
One of the key ingredients in Asian cuisine, this spice from the ginger family has been used for years to treat a wide variety of ailments. It’s often associated with pain relief.
Containing high levels of antioxidants, when taken in supplement form, turmeric fights inflammation and increases liver function.
4. Probiotics
One supplement that provides great results quickly is probiotics. They are live bacteria often called “good” bacteria because of the benefits they provide to our digestive tract. They’re important for overall health, but work directly to improve bowel function.
It doesn’t matter if you're in good health or suffer from a wide range of maladies, taking a probiotic supplement will allow your intestines to better absorb nutrients and bolster your immune system.
5. Brewer’s yeast
Because it comes in capsule form, Brewer’s yeast is a perfect supplement to be taken at breakfast. Mix it with juice, milk, or yogurt for that initial vitamin boost first thing in the morning. You can also take it as a tablet.
Brewer’s yeast helps brain function—working to prevent anxiety and depression. However, it’s also essential for healthy skin, hair, and nails.
6. Spirulina
Packed with amazing nutritional value, spirulina is a superfood derived from algae. Rich in fiber, protein, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and fiber, it promotes overall good health by doing the following:
