HOW 'FREE' IS FREE?

In case anyone was still wondering just how thoroughly we’re being played and betrayed, Prime Minister Boris Johnson went out of his way to hammer it home yesterday.

Just hours into ‘Freedom Day’, he aggressively announced that from September being doubly vaccinated would become mandatory to get into nightclubs and other venues attracting large crowds. No more proof of negative tests or natural immunity; just the jab. Downing Street has since gone even further by declining to rule out pubs, while small business minister Paul earlier said the mandate could be extended to ‘small, badly ventilated rooms’.

And while all this was going on — to the backdrop of an absurd self-isolation pingdemic sidelining thousands and the inconsistent devolution of ‘freedom’ rules to businesses and public bodies — the Government very quietly unveiled the latest step in its digital identity roadmap.
