You can stamp out a lot of false teachers / teachings with 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV.

STUDY to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the word of truth. (Rightly dividing means comparing scripture with scripture.)

*You won't find 2 Timothy 2:15 in any modern version. They've all been changed. Why? What would be the point to something so harmless as 2 Timothy 2:15? The Devil and his Papist agents don't want anyone studying or comparing, they want ignorant people because ignorant people are weak people. Below are the changes made to that verse in modern versions...

ASV - Give diligence to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, handling aright the word of truth. (Give diligence isn't the same as studying, and what does 'handling aright' even mean?)

ESV - Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. (Do your best? That's not studying.)

NASB - Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a worker who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. (Be diligent isn't the same as studying, and what does 'accurately handling' mean?)

NIV - Do your best (same garbage)

NKJV - Be diligent to present yourself approved (same garbage)

NRSV - Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth. (Rightly explaining? Misnomer)

RSV - Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. (same empty garbage)

All the false teachers and false prophets in the world love to use false gospels because the changes within them appeal to their flesh, by design, and allow them license to make up new narratives with plastic preaching.

A small example of this with the modern versions is the addition of the word 'wine' in the OT pertaining to grapes, which, for the reader changes the entire perception.

Deuteronomy 32:14 KJV - and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape. (*grape juice - pressed)

ESV - and you drank foaming wine made from the blood of the grape. (*wine)
NASB - And you drank wine of the blood of grapes. (*wine)
NKJV - you drank wine, the blood of the grapes. (*wine)
NRSV - you drank fine wine from the blood of grapes. (*wine)
RSV - and of the blood of the grape you drank wine. (*wine)
ASV -And of the blood of the grape thou drankest wine. (*wine)

Therefore, now we have false teachers coming out saying, "Look, look, they drank wine, therefore God ordains today's standard of wine". Absolute nonsense and lies; this leads to sin and bad fruit, exactly what we see in society today with the rising doubt and rebellion of God's word, leading in context to alcoholism.

And think on all the other places in modern versions this is happening, where 'new' doctrine is coming about because of the perception management through slight changes. This is where hyper-grace and easy-believism comes from. People are hung up on devilish earthy knowledge, not the knowledge of God. Its leading people astray, and that is not of the Lord Jesus Christ.
