My cat aspirated on medicine & lost his voice.

Jinxy lost his voice. 😭 I gave him medication by dissolving it in water & using a pet syringe like the vet suggested but I think he aspirated. Now he can't meow. The vet says it probably just made his throat soar & it should come back. Has anyone had a similar thing happen? I feel so guilty! 😭
