Transhumanism vs Resurrection
41st in our series the Book of 1 Peter

I. The Facts Regarding Jesus’ Resurrection Body
A. It is not an apparition, it is actual flesh and bone - Luke 24:39
1. His body could eat food - Luke 24:41-43
2. They held Him by His feet - Matthew 28:9
B. It was a supernatural physical body
1. It contains no blood, open wounds - John 20:24-29
2. It was not immediately recognized
a. Mary Magdalene at first thought He was the gardener - John 20:14-16
b. The two disciples on the road to Emmaus - Luke 24:16, 30-31
3. He could disappear at will - Luke 24:31
4. He could appear in a room not having entered the door - Luke 24:36-40
C. His Ascension to Heaven’s Throne
1. All the Universe subject to Him - 1 Peter 3:21-22
2. Physically ascending from earth - Acts 1:9
a. No rocket ship, no space suit, no oxygen tank
b. Moving at an incomprehensible speed- the same day seated in the Throne room of heaven outside this universe - 92 billion light years? (lightyear = 8.5 trillion miles)

II. Christ’s Resurrection Body Shows us what we can anticipate
A. His Body is the First Fruits - 1 Corinthians 15:20
B. The nature of the resurrection body 1 Corinthians 15:42-48
1. In every way like Christ’s resurrected body - verse 49-55
2. An immortal physical body - Revelation 21:4-4
C. The application of our resurrection - 1 Corinthians 15:57-58
