What are we going to do about NHS Vaccine Mandates?

You may have seen the story about the NHS doctor that challenged Sajid Javid last Friday?

Steve James, a consultant anaesthetist at King's College Hospital in London, who has worked in the ICU since early 2020 treating Covid patients, told Sajid Javid why he believes that vaccine mandates are wrong.

The UK government has amended the Health and Social Care Act 2008 to mandate Covid vaccination for healthcare workers, requiring that all patient-facing staff (even clerks, porters and cleaners) must be at least double vaccinated by 1st April.

The move was passed by 385 votes to 100 during a session in the House of Commons on Dec 14, despite the government’s own impact assessment of this policy concluded that as many as 73,000 staff may leave.

Other estimates are in the region of 100k, but both of these are based upon being double vaccinated, meaning these numbers could become far worse if the goalposts change to include boosters.

Within today’s episode I will discuss the implications of the job losses that will likely be incurred within the NHS and the potential impact on patient care.

I will also discuss the grassroot activism that is challenging these mandates including the NHS100k campaign and the Together campaign in the UK, PLUS some specific actions that you can take wherever you are in the world.

Tune in to watch a #LIVE at 17.00 UK time.
