HONDA CITY SEDAN 2022 the new generation of a new family

New City Hatchback sales will begin in March. Prices will only be announced in January.

Honda Automóveis do Brasil presents the long-awaited New City. The fifth generation represents a complete renovation of the model. More than just presenting the new sedan, Honda makes its debut in the hatchback segment with the launch of the New City Hatchback. The City family is being born in Brazil.

No matter the bodywork, the size is one of the great highlights of this new family that has just been born. Compared to the current City, the New City sedan is 53mm wider and 94mm longer. To further enhance the low & wide concept, it has an overall height of 8 millimeters lower. With its 4,549 millimeters, the New City sedan is the largest in the segment in terms of length. The New City Hatchback is no different: it has the highest length-to-width ratio of any premium compact hatchback.

The interior of the New City is also noteworthy for its high sophistication of materials and high quality of finish and assembly. All points of contact with driver and passengers have a surface that is extremely pleasant to the touch. In all versions, the models are equipped with a wide panel, with a sporty character and easy visualization of information.

In the New City Hatchback, all versions (EXL and Touring) have Magic Seat, engine start button, locking and unlocking system by approaching the key (Smart Entry), digital and automatic air conditioning, 8-inch touchscreen multimedia center with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, multi-view reversing camera, rear parking sensors, leather-covered seats and multi-configurable 7-inch TFT digital dashboard. The Touring version also has front parking sensors.

The New City comes equipped with an unprecedented engine. All aluminum, the aspirated four-cylinder is 1.5 liter 16V DI DOHC i-VTEC, that is, with direct fuel injection and two overhead camshafts - one for the eight exhaust valves and the other for the eight intake valves. This intake unit brings together Honda's high-tech solutions.

When it comes to fuel consumption, the New City deserves special mention. According to the Brazilian Labeling Program (PBE), the New City sedan has consumption in the city of 9.2/13.1 km/l (ethanol/gasoline) and, on the road, of 10.5/15.2 km. /l - respectively, the New City Hatchback recorded 9.1/13.3 and 10.5/14.8 km/l. With such numbers, both obtained an A rating on the PBE, within their categories.

The New City sedan will be offered in three versions (EX, EXL and Touring) and the New City Hatchback in two versions (EXL and Touring).

The color palette is varied on both models. The New City sedan will have six options: White Taffeta (solid paint); Cosmic Blue, Platinum Silver and Barium Gray (metallic); and White Topaz and Black Crystal (pearlized). Exclusively in the Touring version, in White Topaz, Barium Gray and Cosmic Blue, the interior will be in light leather. For the other colors, the leather will be black.

The New City Hatchback arrives with an even larger palette of eight colors. In relation to the sedan, it differs only in the offer of two more pearl colors: Red Mercury and the unprecedented Gray Graphene, which will be applied for the first time in Brazil. For all colors, the interior will be black.
