BMW M GmbH presents at the Art Basel event in Miami, United States, the BMW Concept XM, the first exclusive model designed by the sports brand since the BMW M1. The new sports car is quite a gift to celebrate 50 years of BMW M in 2022. The powerful concept is the most powerful production car in the manufacturer's history. Its plug-in hybrid engine includes a V8 engine aided by electric propulsion with a range of up to 80km (WLPT cycle) to deliver 750 hp and 999 Nm of torque, according to preliminary data and tests. Production will begin in late 2022, concentrated in Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States.

The powerful image of the BMW Concept XM combines luxury, performance and design. The two-part headlights and the octagonal grille reinforce the model's identity. The same sporty and luxurious personality is reflected in the cabin. Dubbed the M Lounge, the ultra-sophisticated interior features premium upholstery, such as carbon fiber, and a dashboard that wraps around the driver. It couldn't be different in an exclusive child of the BMW M.

The BMW Concept XM anticipates the most powerful BMW M car to enter series production, which is due to start at the end of next year. At the same time, the BMW Concept XM highlights the standout aspects of the M brand. Electrification is the basis of an extraordinary driving experience that allows the driver to glide in near silence and enjoy the time-honored pleasure of high-performance, M-style. The BMW Concept XM offers a first glimpse of the new front end design for BMW's upcoming luxury models.

The series production model - the BMW XM - will be built from the end of 2022 at the BMW Group Spartanburg plant in the USA, the most important sales market for the new high-performance car. BMW M will therefore be introducing its first autonomous vehicle since the legendary BMW M1 in the year it celebrates its 50th anniversary. The BMW XM will be available in plug-in hybrid form only and exclusively as an M model.

The Concept XM's bold exterior styling reflects the car's exceptional performance attributes: dynamism, agility and precision, plus an all-electric range of up to 80 km. The newly developed M Hybrid steering system on the BMW Concept XM combines a V8 engine and a high-performance electric motor to develop a maximum power of 550 kW / 750 HP and maximum torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft). BMW M GmbH's first electrified vehicle in the high-performance segment is therefore pointing the way to the brand's future.

The BMW Concept XM sees BMW M GmbH blazing a distinct path in the luxury segment. The car's exterior stands out for its presence and extroverted appeal. Inside the car, a special view of the driver-focused cockpit, for which M models are renowned, meets an entirely new rear compartment design: with its high-comfort seats and sculptural, illuminated roof lining, the M Lounge offers passengers a luxurious retreat.

The BMW Concept XM features the new, progressive front design for BMW's luxury models, a version that will be seen for the first time in 2022 as part of BMW's model offensive in the luxury segment. The headlights have been split into two separate modules, a new design feature that creates a visually appealing appearance. The signature of the daytime running light on the slim and elegant upper module is particularly eye-catching.
