"The 2022 midterm elections are right around the corner. In our new series, Teen Vogue’s Top 10, we’re asking candidates 10 questions about the issues we know our readers care about the most, including student debt and climate change — plus a few bonus questions for fun!

In this installment, New York congressional candidate Rana Abdelhamid talks about being a Muslim teen in post-9/11 America, her frustrations with Democrats in Congress, and Love Is Blind.

1. What letter grade would you give Joe Biden’s performance in office? Why?
I would give him a B-minus. I believe President Biden’s agenda is both popular and the right direction for our country, but he hasn’t been able to get the party to align on priorities. From the Child Tax Credit to lowering prescription drug prices, making universal childcare a reality, and eliminating lead pipes from homes, these are broadly popular policies that have received bipartisan support. I align with the president on these policies and hope he continues to pressure the last few holdouts in our party to support the will of the American people — and helps us elect more Democrats in 2022 so that our entire agenda can’t be held hostage by Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema."
