Burgess Owens in Panama CD4

In May of 2021 Congressman Burgess Owens flew to Panama on his own dime to see for himself the massive migration problem in that region of the world. This trip happened shortly after he and a number of other congressional leaders visited the US border with Mexico.

Like most Americans, he wondered where all the migrants were coming from and how were they getting to the US border from South America, Haiti, Egypt, Somalia, Cuba, Asia and other countries from around the world, all with the intent to make it to America for the good life.

What would drive a mother with a toddler, or any other migrant for that matter, to make this journey? We all know the answer, but Burgess wanted to confirm it was as arduous and dangerous as he had heard from those that had been there.

So with the help of several retired US military turned war correspondents we made the journey, and it did not disappoint.
