Bishop Charles' Easter Message

We are completing Holy Week.
Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter build one onto the other. In the Holy Thursday, Jesus gave us the Eucharist, gave us an example of service to each other.

He went into Gethsemane where he agonized about death, fearful, being challenged so much about what was going to happen and yet still trusting in the Father. On Easter Sunday,
He is alive again.

My dear brothers and sisters, this is not just a historical event, it is, but it's much more than that.
It's about our drama, the drama of our life. We have heard so much in the news recently about the horrible, horrible situation, the evil situation in the Ukraine where people are dying and hurting each other.

We know there are other places in the world like Yemen and many other places where violence is being inflicted by human beings onto each other.

We know that like Jesus, many people are betrayed or let down, maybe some of you.
We know that we have pain in our lives, we'd rather not have.

God became flesh in Jesus Christ to remind us that we are not alone.
That God is faithful and God will never abandon us.

So my dear friends, In this time of Easter, we focus on Christ being with us and the promise, I am with you always, even unto the end of time. We focus on hope regardless of what challenges we face. God is there and we are called to be reminders to each other and to all of this message of hope.

God bless you all.
