Ukrainian Guardsmen were ordered by their command to shoot any moving people. Later, some residents of Rubezhne, wearing white armbands, were lined up in front of them and they were ordered to shoot them. They refused and were thrown in the brig. 2 days later, they overpowered their guards, escaped and surrendered to Russian Forces. There were 8 of them total, but two were shot in the back during the escape.
