Spillway Fishing For Walleye / River Bank Fishing For Walleye, Bass, Perch & More / Fish Yoga

In this fishing video I go Spillway Fishing For Walleye, Bass, Perch, Sunfish, Crappie & Catfish, with my buddy Sal. this trip stated off with a bang and I was hammering bass right off the bat! After a while we got a bit of rain and with it a big school of shad came up to the spillway. Shortly after the shad moved up to the mouth of the spillway the walleye moved in to feed on them. Spillway fishing for walleye is always a good choice because walleye like to hang out around spillways and dams and are known to be actively feeding on minnows that tend to congregate around these spillways. The best walleye lures in these situations are ones that match the hatch so anything that looks like a minnow. in this case the Steelshad was the hot walleye lure of the trip.
River bank fishing for walleye can be a challenge but walleye fishing from shore can be productive if you know how to catch walleye from shore naturaly... The whole trick is presentation. you have to spoon feed the walleyes sometime by getting the lure right in the strike zone. I belive walleye like to abmbush hunt and tend to hide behind rocks so a slow and low presentation tends to work best when walleye fishing. When I am walleye fishing below dams I like to cast upstream into the dam if possible. I believe walleye like to feed on fish that come over the spillway. that is one of my favorite walleye fishing techniques for walleye fishing below dams. its days like this that keep me excited for spillway walleye fishing and the memories of catching big walleyes below dams just reinforce my notions.

Disclaimer: this spillway is private and you can not fish it without land owner permission. This particular creek is a tributary of the maple river. This day was definitely one of the most epic creek fishing adventures I've been on. Normally when I think of creeks I think of trout so it was super happy to catch Walleye, Bass, Perch, Sunfish, Crappie & Cats while creek fishing.
