E26 0002 Ludlow and Barstow on Route 66 102

This entire series was filmed during late summer of 2010.Many of the personalities still can be found but many others have moved on. This series will tell you of history, it will show attractions, and it will make you laugh and cry. This is the Mother Road. Follow us as we reveal American's main street. In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we film Ludlow ruins and the Ludlow Motel and café (open) as we reach the west side of the Mojave Desert. We filmed the Newberry Springs Day Creek Station ruins, and the Bagdad Café (open) where we spoke to the owner who gave a bit of history, but he did not want to go on camera or be identified. We continue west to find another fenced in ghost town. In Daggett we found the Sportsman's Club ruins. The end of the Desert is Barstow full of friendly people. Our first stop was Revolutions because it sits on the historic Beacon Hotel site, and we spoke with a woman who worked there who wished not to be identified or filmed, but she was OK with filming as she gave us the story. We visited the last Harvey House on Route 66, but this one was fully restored into a museum, and bears the name, Casa Del Desierto. We were greeted by Jeri Justus who gave us a tour.
