Residents of Mariupol, including children, talk about their experiences:
"You know, we are alive, and we are grateful for everything, that we are alive... The most important thing is human life. And the children – they are always happy, we teach them so that they are always happy, flaming in spirit, not discouraged... You know, we live in one day. We have lived through one day – and we are happy, and we thank God that we have lived. This is the kind of life we have, because tomorrow is not in our power ... " - says the father of the Bodulenko family.
"They are so nice (Russian military). They came up, they say – don't worry, everything will be fine, just don't go there, it's dangerous there" - a girl from Mariupol says that Russian soldiers warn children against visiting dangerous areas where fighting is still going on.
"I don't understand why the war started. I don't understand what's going on right now. We live - that's what everyone says now - we live in hell. No water, no light… I haven't brushed my teeth for probably a month"
