2022 L'ETAPE San Antonio 100 Mile Start - Exclusive Drone View #letapesanantonio #tourdefrance

The first annual L'ETape San Antonio by Tour de France bicycle race was held on Sunday, April 10, 2022, on the campus of UTSA. This is the first North America race by Tour de France, with 1 other race scheduled for later this year in Canada.

This drone video covers the start of the 100 mile riders, complete with a red Ferrari leading the way.... It's a short video, only about 2 minutes in length, but it shows the spirit of these riders as they participated in this historic race.

The race started at 7am, just before sunrise, but light enough to ride safely. Riders had 8 hours to complete the course and each rider had a timing chip embedded in their bib for the sensors to read. The route was very challenging, with lots of hills, but also with lots of scenic views that most people don't notice when driving a car.

The route was fully supported with Aid Stations and lots of law enforcement helping to direct traffic at each intersection so the lead riders never had to slow down or stop for a red light.
