The residents of Mariupol, rescued by the servicemen of Russia and the DPR, said that the militants of the Azov national battalion not only prevented civilians from leaving the humanitarian corridor, but also prevented them from living in the city itself — they constantly ran from house to house, changed positions and fired at civilians.

Against the background of the humanitarian catastrophe that has developed in the city residents had to go for water to a well near a local bakery, risking their own lives. As a resident of Mariupol Elena Vasilyevna notes, they shot right under their feet: "They shot a bunch of people, right pieces of meat were lying around the wells." And she is not the only witness to these events — another local resident recalls how militants bombed houses on her street and shot children who went to get water.
