Pregnancy is a time of both joy and fear. Women become more vulnerable to different risks and diseases which they never faced before.

For the mother, there are many things to think about and do in order to have a healthy pregnancy and childbirth, as well as create a safe environment for their newborn baby.

It is important to know what the risk factors are and how to deal with them. One should avoid going near toxic substances, not eating unpasteurized dairy products, not drinking alcohol, avoiding lifting heavy weights, taking care of their skin, getting enough sleep, etc.

As the pregnancy progresses, there are certain things that should be done and some things that should be avoided.

1- Do take folic acid
2- Do take vitamin D
3- Do take a multivitamin
4- Don’t take more than one dose of multivitamins.
5- Do stay active
6- Do get lots of sleep
7- Do eat seafood
8- Don’t take undercooked or raw seafood.
9- Do have sex
10- Do get a flu shot and Covid Vaccine
11- Do gain weight smartly
12- Don’t ger a lot of weight during pregnancy
13- Do visit your dentist.
14- Don’t smoke
15- Don’t drink alcohol
16- Don’t eat raw meat
17- Don’t eat deli meat
18- Don’t eat unpasteurized milk products
19- Don’t sit in a hot tub or sauna
20- Don’t drink a lot of caffeine
21. Don’t clean the cat’s litter box
