Like many nations, Canada has experienced a breakdown of law and order, with the foundational principles of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms seemingly disappearing since the onset of COVID-19. Once a revered document, the Charter has been rendered nearly powerless. According to the Hon. Brian Peckford, Canada has strayed so far from democracy that several Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) have criticized Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for violating fundamental rights and acting like a "dictator"—a reality many Canadians fail to recognize as they believe they are still free.

Join us for an important interview with the Honourable Brian Peckford, the man who played a key role in uniting premiers during 1981-1982 to uphold the principles that became the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, successfully opposing Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau's unilateral attempt to undermine Canada's supreme laws. As the Charter approaches its 40th anniversary on April 17, Hon. Peckford finds himself in another battle for freedom and democracy—this time against another Trudeau. In this interview, he discusses what he calls the greatest fight of his life, his federal lawsuit against travel mandates, whether the pandemic was ever "demonstrably justified" to override the Charter, Trudeau’s "dictator" label, and much more.
