Budget 2022: Canada pledges $8 billion in new defence spending over 5 years.
Canada is earmarking $8 billion for defence over the next five years as part of its newly announced budget.

Within that allotted spending, $6.1 billion comes with a major focus on North American defence and modernizing NORAD, a pledge to continue with NATO commitments in Europe and a major defence policy review to determine what Canada's military needs to be able to do in a changing world.
