Brazil - Santa Catarina - Praia Ponta das Canas

Ponta das Canas is a white sand beach, clear and calm water. An ideal beach to go with children, there they can play peacefully. With few waves and a gentle slope, the beach is crowded every day, especially on summer vacations.
The beach has a good infrastructure of restaurants, shops, supermarkets and hotels, but it still has a rustic feel, which many people like. Despite the distance from the center, it is an easily accessible beach, right on the northern tip of the island. It is extensive and therefore accommodates many bathers comfortably, with their umbrellas without having to be squashed. Good for a walk from end to end at the beginning of the day or late in the afternoon.
Ponta das Canas was once an isolated fishing community, which over the years has developed around the church that is in front of the beach, and with real estate speculation it has become another tourist spot on the island. In summer, tourists from all over the country and from neighboring Mercosur countries often come to spend their summer vacations on the coast of Santa Catarina.
Access to the beach is by roads coming from the center and it gets very crowded in the summer.
