History of Religious devotion culture vs work culture, why work culture is better

Edit. Update on why Africa never needed to develop. Maybe it just wasnt much pressure as it was on Europe or middle east, where conquest made it necessary of having a development psychology to develop and defeat the enemy (but the way the culture shaped was for the good and worse), and Africa may have been more tribal so it wasnt added pressure to the type of development that Europe or middle east experienced. Sorta like how Polynesians never needed to develop much either, because if there is no need for it, as it was mainly tribal. But my theory on it.
