You Will Never Own Your Home

Yeah, that's right, homeownership is a myth that has been propagated by the government since the 1930's as the "American Dream". The problem is that it is an outright lie. Think you own your home? Try not paying property taxes for a couple years and see how long it takes for your "American Dream" to turn into an "American Nightmare".

If paying off your mortgage makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, then you should absolutely do that. I just want to dispel a couple common misconceptions about what paying off your mortgage actually means, vs what some of the leading financial pundits would have you believe. My biggest issue is that these so-called "financial experts" are withholding critical details about what paying off your mortgage actually means to you (it ain't all sunshine and rainbows).

Everyone has different goals, work ethics, and aspirations, but you should at least know the truth before you make a decision to pay off your mortgage or not. As always, I won't encourage you to do anything but use your brain. What you decide to do needs to be what is best for you and your family.
